Harness The Power Of Focus
Focus is concentrating on something important and worthwhile in our lives. It’s giving all of our attention to a goal until we reach it. Your focus determines your reality. Focus is essential to achieve anything we want in life. If you can’t maintain your focus, you won’t achieve the goal. We should have focus at every level in our life. There are four levels of focus we need to concentrate on to achieve our goals.
Having a lifetime focus means we have a purpose in life. Finding our life’s purpose helps us make the right decisions in life. We are focused on that purpose and everything in our life must fall under that umbrella. If you’re not sure what you’re life’s purpose is, a few things to consider are:
- What’s important to you
- Your passions
- Find the intersection between your passions and the things that matter to you
- Creating a mission statement
- Keep refining
- Yearly Focus
It’s helpful to set annual goals so you have something to focus on achieving for the year. These goals should be specific and measurable. These goals should be related to your life’s goal. It’s best to just stick to one or two goals per year so you can focus solely on them.
Having too many goals will make you lose your focus. These yearly goals should never be far from your mind so that you are always focused on them. The power of focus is a tremendous thing and can motivate you greatly throughout the year.
Weekly and Daily Focus
It’s helpful to have rituals for your daily and weekly goals so you can achieve them with little thought. Again, these should all point back to your annual focus which points back to your lifetime focus. Each day some task can be carried out that accomplishes something that works towards that lifetime focus you have set for yourself.
To get something accomplished everyday, make a list of three things you want to do in order of importance and simply work down your list. Your list should contain things that seek to help you reach your lifetime focus when possible.
Focus is a powerful thing. It is the difference between achieving great things and not achieving anything at all. By putting your mind to it and breaking your lifetime focus down into yearly, weekly, and a daily focus, your dreams are much more attainable. Having the self-discipline to follow through with these things truly will allow your dreams to become a reality.
